Google Adwords: Setting Up Your Campaign
Google Adwords: Setting Up Your Campaign
At Hara Partners, we have a lot of experience in Google AdWords. Google allows you to set up a campaign on pretty much anything that you’re trying to promote.
Let’s say you have some real estate that you want to sell. You want to make sure that people are searching for it on Google. So what do you want to put in your campaign?
1) Location
People need to know where you are. Otherwise, how are they going to be interested in what you’re selling? If I’m selling hotdog stands near Madison Square Garden, I better be sure to put ‘Madison Square Garden as my campaiogn name. But then comes the keywords: an approximation of what you think people are going to be typing into Google.
2) Keywords
Okay, so let’s continue on with the hotdog stand example. What’s your big ‘kick,’ the thing that will ensure that people will be rushing in to buy the stands that you’re selling? Look at all the factors. Say the hotdog stands are affordable… Ah, there’s an idea for a keyword. So you add ‘affordable’ into the keyword field.
If you have keywords in mind that will cancel out the search views, you can put them into ‘Negative keywords.’ So you know your stand is affordable… Well, the keyword that you would like people to avoid, then, is ‘expensive.’ Put that as your negative keyword.
3) Landing Pages for Google AdWords
Once you’ve finished polishing up your online campaign on AdWords and tossed all of the money into it for the budget, now you need to create the landing pages. One website that we recommend is Unbounce. You don’t need to be a graphic designer to figure out how to put these pages together. There are guides online to help you get started. Keep in mind to match the keywords in the Unbounce campaign with the ones you use in your AdWords campaign.
